HUNTING AT 81.
BIRTHDAY GREETINGS TO PRINCE CHRISTIAN. Prince Christian, eighty-one on January 21, spent several hours of his birthday in Hie hunting-field. Rising, as is his wont, at about 7.30, he received the congratulations of Princess Christian and his son and daughter. After breakfast at 8.15 and reading congratulatory messages .from royal and other friends, Princo Christian motored from Frogmore to White Wnltham for the meet of the Garth .Hounds. "Ah," said the Prince, as lie smilingly acknowledged (lie hearty congratulations of the hunt, "I have had too many birthdays." Yet he looked little over fifty as lie rodo off on his bay horse, with the members of the limit in close company of Colonel Vim de Weyer, another venerable follower of the Garth. Prince Christian went through the day's Hunt, which concluded somewhat abruptly at. threo o'clock in consequence of fog, ap-; parontly not in the least fatigued by his long outing in the saddle. He motored back to Frogmore, and,over afternoon tea lie read many more congratulatory messages. ITo dined with his family at eight o'clock, and the remainder of the evening was quietly enjoyed, tho Prince retiring between t«'n o'clock and eleven o'clock. The Prince attributes his continued good health to his lovo of an open-air life. Ho lias always been a great walker. He is fond of racing, is a good judge of a horse, and is keenly interested in all truly EngliiOi sports. In the public an'airs of Windsor he takes a practical part.
