The Mayor announces, in an interview with tlio press, that ho dooa not intern' to allow consideration of the friction bfl twoen tho Borough Council and its en, gineer to be dropped, hut that' he will call a special meeting of tho council ncxl week, to consider ft motion that the engineer bo asked to resign. His Worship threatens that if' tho motion is defeated ho will hand in bis own resignation.
