MASTERTON SHOW.

As the opening day for the Masterton Show approaches, the expectation of breeders is being quickened. Tim excellence of tho siud stock grown in the Wairarapa has become so well known that breeders. are naturally anxious lo see it at its best, and to compare it with the finest that can l>e produced in other parts of the Dominion. The judges on this occasion will have no easy task, for the pick of the flocks of Hawkc's Bay, Manawatu, and Marlborough have been entered. The produce exhibits in the agricultural hall will also he one of the strongest ever made in the district, whilst the competitions and other classes will be represented by tho • very best. Tho whole of the arrangements for the show are now complete. Provision has been made for picnic parties in the native bush which skirts tho grounds, and the catering and train arrangements are good. Accommodation can be secured by either writing or telegraphing to the secretary (Mr. J. B. Emmett).

The stockbreeders of the Dominion have not been slow to recognise the importance of the Masterton show from a breeder's point of view, ami this is demonstrated by the fact that the exhibition of sheep, horses, and cattle which will be made at the beautiful Solway grounds on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week will eclipse anything of the kind ever seen in the North Island at this time of the year. Not only are the entries in the individual classes numerically stronger than ever before, but. the quality of the stock to be shown will be much above the average. The whole of the prominent breeder's of Hawke'.s Bay, Manuwatu, and Wairarapa are represented, and many entries have been received from Marlborough, Auckland, and Taranuki provinces. Apart from the stock there will be a magnificent display of farm produce, and there will be keen competition in all classes. Those who have not already made arrangements for accommodation during show week should communicate with the ✓secretary (Mr. J. B. Emmett), who will find comfortable billets for them.
