The fish nt Lake Kotorua, which hart of late vcars been the subject of considerable complaint, are now, Air. Millar slates, though not largo, much better in condition than formerly. Ihe largo number of slings that previously existed on Ihe lake were considered to lie responsible to a great extent for the bad condition of the fish. An active crusade hud, however. Iwen lately conducted by the lfoturua ljod and dim Club against the shags and with their diminution a marked improvement in the condition of the lish had been brought about. Very few slings were now to be soon, and on tlio western side of Lako Taupo they had almost disappeared. There were, it was stated. Mine mi tl|c eastern side of the lake, whilst' they wcro still plentiful on the Wajkato Kivor.
