In order to deal with tho situation arising from the congestion of freight traffic due to efforts to move the grain crop from the Canadian West, an appeal has been made to the American Railroads for a reduction in rates on a wholesale scale. It is stated that thirty million bushels of wheat are frozen upon prairies, or are in the elevators.
