LONDON WOOL SALES.
Messrs. Levin and Co., Limited, have received the following cablegram' from their London agents with regard to tho January wool sales :— i'ho sales lir.vc closed. Tho market is barely steady. There is a perceptible slackness from Amcrka," Me&srs. Murray, Koberts and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram, dated February 3, from their London friends, Messrs. Sanderson, Hurray and Co. :— "First Series wool sales have closed, 13.CC0 bales being held over. Merino, best descriptions, market shows no change. Ail other descriptions oi wool declined 5 per cent." Messrs. Dalgcly and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cablegram from their London houfic, under date of February 3:— "Wool galea closed. As compared with closing rates of last series, Merino, good quality, scoured unchanged, super scoured unchanged, inferior faulty scoured live per cent, lowsr, greasy, fair to- good, unchanged, heavy earthy and waety, 5 per cent, lower. Crossbrcds grcasies, line quality, light conditioned, free from burr, par to 5 per cent, liiuliur; medium lightconditioned and bright, par to 5 per cent, scoured crossbrcds, unchanged. Lambs, unchanged, inferior and faulty wools, o per ccirt. to 1C per cent, lower. Seven thousand bales were sold to America; 92,000 bales, Home consumption; 6C.CM) bales, Continent; 19.K-D bales carried forward. Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date February 3:— Wool Sales: The sales closed with good competition. 169,000 bales of wool were sold, 63,CC0 of which were taken fer the Continent, and 7COO for America. As compared with hist sales' closing rates, prices are about the same for greasy crossbred, lower by about par to 5 per cent, for crossbred slipc, and lower by about 5 per cent, for merino inferior and scoured crossbred. There is a decreased American demand for crossbred wool. AUCKLAND WOOL SALES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) i Auckland, February 5. The third and final wool sale of the peason will be held in Auckland to-morrow, when catalogues totalling 2624 bales will be ollereii. The quantity of wool offered at tha three sales o[ the season amounts to 15,713 bales, wliilc the r.ggrcjtate entry for the three sales of the 1810-11 sea?on was 16,207 baloe.
