Tho oat crop is patchy in parts, but some excellent individual returns arc recorded. Mr. .1. C. M'Killop, of Te Ore Ore, cut a crop of "Abundance" oats which yielded, illi biuhels to the acre, and two tons of pressed straw. About 15(10 acres of bush arc to bo burned in the Alfredton district this season.

.Mr. H. X. barton's "Clifton Goito" property has been sold to Mr. C. Bcrmett, of Hawke's Way.

There are at present 130 men engaged at the Wainguwa freezing works. The dry iveathor is causing a rush of fat stock. Last week nearly 10,000 sheep and 70 head of cattle were dispatched to tho works.
