AIWATS NEW DEMANDS, (By Teleeraph—Prcsa Association.) Auckland, January 12. 1 Following: the decision of tho Auckland Waterside Workers' Union that in future work should not commence at midnight 011 Sunday on the Sydney steamers, but tliat (ho hour of starting bo eight o'clock on Monday morning, it is understood that the waterside workers lire, in future, to cease work at noon on Saturday instead of at 4 p.m. After midday, overtime is to bo asked for at the rate of 2s. Cd. an hour, which is a rise of sixpence an hour on the -rates paid for overtnno under tha present conditions after i p.m.
