Tho General Federation of Trade Unions has doubled tho levies on affiliated unions in order to support tlio cotton operatives. Tho accumulated funds total .£06,730, compared with .£102,000 in 1909. Tho Cotton Manufacturers' Association in a manifesto deny the statement that they do not desire a settlement, but only aslc as non-combatants in tho quarrel between unionists and non-unionists that their financial interests should remain unaffected. WESTPHALIAN MINERS. Berlin, January 11. Tho newspapers in Wcatphalia deny that German miners aro arranging a sympathetic strike. IN FAVOUR OF A STRIKE. London, January 11. All the ballots of the Minors' Federation members show overwhelming majorities in favour of a national strike. SIDNEY WHARF LABOURERS. Sydney, January 12. The wharf labourers on two of tho Adelaide Steamship Company's boats struck becauso a constant hand was sent below to work cargo. (Rec. January 13, 0.55 a.m.) Sydney, January 12. Two more of tho Adelaide CompAny's steamers have been rendered idlo n's a protest against constant hands working cargo.
