Twenty-seven thousand doctors are pledged not to assist in tho working cf the Insurance Bill, unless on a basis of the six cardinal points. The six cardinal points on which the doctors insist are:— 1. Income limit of £2 a week for those entitled to medical benefits. 2. Free choice of doctor by patient, subject to consent of doctor to net. 3. Medical and maternity benefits to be administered by local health committees and not by friendly societies. 4. Adequate remuneration. 5. A method of payment favoured by tho majority of practitioners in each district. (!. Adequate representation on the local health committees.
