DOMINION REVENUE.

AN ALL-ROUND INCREASE. Particulars of the Dominion's revenue for the nine months ended December 31 were supplied by the (Sir Joseph Ward) on Tuesday evening. Ho pointed out that tlio increase in revenue during. that period, compared with the corresponding period of tho previous year, was .£598,884. Taking tho twelve calendar months ending on December 31 and comparing them with the year 1910, ho ascertained that last year's revenue had gone up by J;91i5,(i55. "As' showing tho buoyancy of trtide in' tho Dominion during tho nino months of the "naiftiii] year/' remarked tho Prime Minister, "it is very gratifying'.to Hn'd. ' that thero lias been an increase under «i.ll heads of rovonuc, even though the period included tho election;, which always interfere with tho ordinary currency of trade. This goes to show that,, the general activity in all avenues which go to make up our, revenue has been, very marked. The current quarter, which ends' on March 31, is usually one of tho host of the year, and I hope to find that tho average increase for tho nino months uu-' dor review will continue. Since tho general election thero havo been clear indications of tightness of money in various iiortions of tho Dominion, and I fchould lope, for the sake of the country and all engaged in its trado and development, that the satisfactory condition of the revenue will help to allay any uneasiness." The revenue for tho nino months ended December 31, 1911, compared with the corresponding period of 1910, is as follows:— In--1911. 1910. crease.
