CRICKET. TESTIMONIAL TO J. M. BLACKHAM. PLEA OT "SO FUNDS." A meeting of tho Management Committeo of the Wellington Cricket Association was hold last night. .Mr. A. T. Bate was ia tho chair, and there were, also present .Messrs. D. H'Keussio, W. Ilood, C. Hickey, W. A- i'arton, W. C. Lowe, and E. B. VaucoA letter was received from the Central Cricket Club complaining of tho unsatisfactory condition of tho practice wickets. The club also asked for a reduction of tho rent charged for the room at the Basin Eoserve.—lt, was decided to refer tho letter to the Ground Committee for report, and to inform the club of tho action taken.

The New Zealand Cricket Council forwarded copy of a letter from the Victorian Cricket Association in reference to a benefit and testimonial to be tendered to J. it. Blackham.—lt was resolved that the Wellington Cricket Association regrets that, on account of the. stato of its linance;!, it cannot see its way to contribue to the fund, but assumes that tho A T ew Zealand Cricket Association will giro a donation on behalf of Now Zealand cricketers.

It was decided to challenge Canterbury for the Plunket Shield. The dates Suggested aro January 25, 26, and 27. It was reported that a profit of .£9i odd had been made on the two representative matches played in Wellington recently. .The bank overdraft had been considerably reduced during the, season.
