SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications are for a rising barometer and moderate to strong southerly winds, squally in parte. Eain is probable on the East Coasts southward of East Cape, and cold, changeable, and showery conditions elsewhere, but there aro prospects of an early improvement. The centre of a cyclone of moderate Intensity passed over tho country during last night, when heavy rain fell in many parte, especially in the West Coast districts of the North Island and tho East Coast of tho South. Flooded rivers were reported, in parts of tho latter districts this morning. TUu winds have changed to southerly to-day, moderate to strong generally. B. V. PEIIBERTON.
