NEW HEBRIDES.

• A CHANGE IMPENDING. By Telegraph— Association—CJopyrisM •Sydney, December 29. The "Herald" states that there seems tb be little doubt that something is afoot with regard to the New Hebrides. The question whether the final solution shall take the form of tho partition of the group between Britain and France, or annexation and exchange of territory elsewhere, is exercising the minds of thoso interested. Had Australia annexed the islands a few years ago, when all the European residents were British, there would havo been no foreign opposition. "But this," adds the paper, "is one of tho many opportunities Australia has let slip. Under present conditions tho New Hebrides will always bo a source of trouble."
