NORTH ISLAND CAUCUS.
THE PRIME MINISTER STILL SILENT. STRONG PRESS COMMENTS.
Most of the North Inland Government members assembled in Wellington yesterday, and in the evening attended a caucus summoned by tho Prime Minister. The only statement wado to the press after tho meeting was that a private meeting of North Island members had been held, there being present: Tho Primo Minister (Sir Joseph Ward). Sir James Carroll.' Tho Hon. J. A. Millar. , The Hon. D. Buddo. Mr. A. It. Myers (Auckland East). Mr. A. E. Glover (Auckland Central). Mr. W. .1). S. Macdonald (Bay cf rienty). Mr. R. W. Smith (Waimarino). Mr. V. H. Reed (Bay of Islands). Sir. 3. Vigor Brown (Napier). Mr. C. ; Pa rata (Southern Maori) was jlso present. The Prime Minister said that he had no statement to make. North Island Government, members who did not attend the meeting were: Tho Hon. T. Mackcnzio (Egmont), Mr. H. Poland (Ohinomuri), the Hon. A. T. Ngata (Eastern Maori), and Dr. To Kangihiroa (Northern Maori). The Hon. T. Mackenzie is due to'arrive in Wellington from Christchurch to-day. Mr. Poland was in town yesterday.
