' POSITION PRACTICALLY UNALTERED. (lly TelccrraDh.-Press Ansodallon.l Dunedin, December 20. The position in regard to the engineers' dispute at Port Clu'lmors is practically unaltered. Meanwhile the overhaul of the Koonya is being proceeded with by the Union Company's shore staff nml ships' engineers. It is now stated that tlio men claim a minimum vane of Us, per day, Is. more than the existing award, which came, into force on January 2, with a currency uf three years. 'Tho Union Company is bound by the special provisions of the award relating to nours of work, overtime, wages, etc- These provisions embody an agreement made with the union representatives in Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin, and (he Arbitration Court is not responsible for them.
