The war between Italy nnd Turkey hna led to .a tragedy of an unusual nature. ]n St. Petersburg an Ottoman girl, Tawa Koniiko, was receiving her education. As soon as hostilities began tho young lady prepared to return to her country, but as funds were wanting her departure was delayed. Then c«mo tho announcement of the full of Tripoli, with Iho result' that the girl was in a state of despair. She seemed to think that her country would never, recover itself. Sho said sho could never survive the disaster, and ..her friends kept her under close surveillance.
