• MR. M'KENNA EXPRESSES HIS REGRETS. B7 Telegraph—Press Aesor.ntien— Copyright London, December 23. Mr. Reginald M'lCcnna, Home Secretary, and lalo I'irst Lord of the Admiralty, denies that he wrote to his election agent stating that "nobody attaches any importance to Lord Charles Beresford's speeches. It is common knowledge that I refused to employ him or recommend him as an Admiral of tho Fleet." Ho adds that the letter be did write was not intended for publication. Mr. M'Kenna, on being interviewed, said he could not remember tho exact phrases of his letter, but ho believed it had been misquoted. Ho had expressed his regrets to Lord Charles Boresford. The mistake was due to mistranslation of his bcntiiucnU.
