TEST MATCH.
AUSTRALIAN COMMENT. ENGLAND MUST SEND HER BEST TEAM, By ToleeraDh—Press Aesar.tilion -GoDyrlgM Sydney, December 22. The "Sydney Morning Herald" «iys that at no stage did the Australians look like losing the lest match. They batted, bowled, and fielded bettor than the Englishmen. In recant years English critics bavo considered that, the only way a visiting team could hope for mioccsn against the Australians was by sound, defensive, rather than brilliant, batting. The South Africans also adopted these tactics, but Australia had worn nine out of the last eleven tests, proving that' the enterprising batsman, as represented by Australia, loses nothing by comparison. The "Daily Telegraph" state that considering the English team was not representative, and that Warner was unable to play, the Englishmen can be congratulated on their good fight. If England is to win in Australia, she must Eond her best team, though it is open to argument even if her bost team could win. The Englishmen may do better in the remaining matches. Many of them ar« young players engaging in their first test. This is moro serious to an Englishman than to 'an' Australian, as cricket is sacred to the English, whereas no 6port is sacred to Australians, who have no traditions to live up to.
