The Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee in tho Hou?c of Representatives intend to prepare a based on tho Tariff Board report. The intention is to put tho issue of Protection clearly up to the Progressives, and force them to meet it squarely. Tho Progressive leaders are understood to favour a protective duty equal to tho dift'erenco between the cost of production in the United States and abroad.
