The use of the Basin Eeserre has been granted tho Wellington Cricket Association on December 23 and 25 (Christmas Day), with nermission to charge for admission on December 23, and to take up a collection on December 25, subject to the association arranging for e ground on these dates for the Wellington Wednesday Cricket Association's match, Auckland v. Wellington. WHEELERS' CARNIVAL. the Athletic Park on Now Year's Day, Monday, January 1, the Wellington Wheelers' Club are to hold a cycling and athletic sports carnival. A very extensive programmo has been drawn up and the entries, which close to-dav are coming in freely. The events will include amateur and professional cycling, amateur and professional running," Highland dancing, amateur athletics, etc. besides a number of other interesting'contests.
