ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
THE AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE. By Telezrapti—Press Association—Copyrlsnt Sydney, December 18. The British Association Football Conference adapted a series of resolutions with the object of popularising and improving the standard of play, including regular inter-State and inter-Dominion matches, and the holding of a carnival in Melbourne at an early date. It was resolved that the time is opportune for the formation of an Australian Council, A comniiltee was appointed to draft a constitution for the council. In tiew of opinions expressed, it appeared that New Zealaud does not. desire inclusion in the council. (Rec. December 18, ll".10 p.m.) Sydney, December 18. Tho Association Football Conference has adopted recommendations in favour of securing uniformity iu the appointment and examination of referees and of securing the visit of an English team. The conference afterwards adjourned uutil Thursday, when the committee presents its report nn the proposed Australian Council of Control, with New Zealand standing separate.
