The Auckland Tailoresses' Union is taking action in reference to what is- regarded as a lock-out iu a factory employing about thirty tailoresses. Twenty-live objected to four fellow-employees, and demanded their dismissal. This being refund, twenty-five, eea.-ed nMrk after givOnapplyingfor workt'lse-' where they were unable for a considerable time to obtain employmenr. and it is alleged that in view of work being plentiful this iiiiiat bo regarded as u lock-out. Twelve of tlie twenty-five eventually returned to work with their former* employer, with (ho four β-irls objected to. The others obtained work elsewhere, but as they were out ot work a fortnight, His union considers it necessary to consider tho matter with a view to possible action.
