Many parents and friends were present, and tho entertainment which was provided by tho children was greatly enjoyed, Recitations, sccnes from "The Midsummer Night's Dreajn," a French conversation, song and . dance, Christmas-enrols, and a gymnastic exhibition by tho boys and girls, under tho direction of Mr. Harrison, made up tho programme. The Shakespearean scenes were surprisingly good, particularly when one took into consideration the jrouth of those concerned in the piny, the children. were droiwl to represent their parts, both in the plav aud in tho dance which they performed. The prizes were awarded by Mrs. Menzios, and iaterwards a presentation was made to Miss Richmond, bv Master Douglas Earle, on behalf of the school. It took the torm of a cut-glass silver mounted ink well. Miss Richmond also recoived from her small scholars a beautiful bouquet of scarlet and whifco carnations and white sweet peas, scarlet and white being the school colours.
