The payments made at tlio Ashhurst and Manakau cheese factories total ,£917 7s. Id. The highest cheques issued during the month were for .CH7 to an Oriiifri sup nlier, .f 112 and .CIQO respectively to two Manakau suppliers, and .E133 to a Tokomnru supplier. Much repret is expressfd in the Bunnythorpe district at the death of Mrs. Bockman, wife of Mr. Edwartl Beckmnn, of liongotoa, who passed owav at I'alinerston North yesterdav inoniimr. The d<-ceased lady was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. Scheldt, of Bunnvtliornc, and had been 011 the staff of that school for about two years, leaving that position about a year ago. As a niork of respect to'the memory of the late Mrs. Beckmnn, tho School Com 111 iitoo have postponed the school picnic, which was to have been held to-morrow.
