Owing to an explosion of gas in tho basement of tho liritish Museum on October 25, two workmen wero slightly injured. The men were searching {or an escape of gas; one of them, it is stated, carrying a torch, whou tho explosion took place. Christmas is approaching fast, nnd it is not too soon to purchase presents for relations and friends. Messrs. R.
