THE VOICE OF PARNELL.
The congratulations which will be extended to the Reform party to-day would be incomplete without a reference to the crushing defeat of Sir John Findlay at Parnell. The Ward Administration contained no more dangerous member than the late Attorney-General. He showed himself in his true colours during the contest for Parnell when he stooped to every conceivable election device in the endeavour to win the seat and received in the. end the rebuff he thoroughly well merited. Now that he has been well beaten we have no desire to say very much on the subject. We cannot refrain, however, from congratulating the people of Parnell on having rendered the country a very gTeat service. We have made no secret of our belief that Sill John Findlay, as a politician, was a menace to sound and just government; and we are pleased to recall his announcement that if defeated in the present contest he would retire finally from the political arena with few regrets.
