MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr. W. G. Eiddell, S.M.) THE CLUB'S FUNDS. FORMER SECRETARY CHARGED. Frederick William Green was charged that, being tho servant of the Wellington Working Men's Club and Library Institute, ho did between August 1, 1911, and November 20, 1911, steal the sum of .£2Ol, or thereabouts, tho property of tho said club.
Accused was remanded till' December 20. Bail was fixed at ,£IOO, and two sureties of .£IOO..
OTHER CASES. John M'Convillc was charged with drunkenness, breaking a prohibition order, and assaulting Constable Stewart. The magistrate made flncs totalling .£5. For insobriety. Mary Mivegney was committed to I'akatoa Inebriates' Home, and a conviction was recorded np-oinst her respecting a charge of her tiarii* used obscene language. Rose Fraser was fined 10s. for insobriety, and £2 10s. for having nsed obscene language. Donald Gillanders, who had bsen fonnd helplessly drunk, was ordered to par 17s. 6d. expenses. James Marshall was fined .£2 on a charge of having committed an aggravated assault on a small boy: CIVIL BUSINESS. (Before Dr. M/Arthur, S.M.) At the Magistrate's Court yesterday tho Inspector of Awards proceeded against Arthur Guest on a cliargo of breach of award. The allegation was that defendant had failed to nay the minimum rate to a youth. His Worship imposed a fino of £2.'
In tho case of W. V. Eggers asainst h. Wood, a claim of .£ll for alleged rout ot stables-judgment was entered for the defendant, without cost?.
