The council then went into committee on wrfciin matters of policy connected-with the-library.

No fewer than seven members of the teaching stiff of the Newtown School will enter upon fresh engagements in other schools at tho conclusion uf the Christmas holidays, and on Tuesday evening a small and very enjoyable social evening was held in the school in their honour.
Organised in Wellington, a small moving picture company will set out in.the course of a few days on a tour of America and England, making a speciality of the exhibition of pictures of New Zealand scenery and wonder sights, including some views of the Hot Lakes district, Milford Sound, Wairakei GcyscTs, and the Wnitomo Caves. It is intended to carrjwith the show a kineniatograph camera and an expert operator to gather new and original material frlong their travel route.

The death of Mr. Jivncs Hay has left a vacancy in the representation of the Canterbury College graduates on the Senate uf tho University. Mr. 0. T. J.
