HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.

The ordinary, monthly meeting of the riorowhenua County Council was hem on 'Saturday, there being present: Councillors Venu (chairman), Watson, Monk, Freeman, Eichanb, l'rouse, Ivebbell, biophenson, and Slcennan. Letters were rend from a number of county councils agreeiiiK to support propnsed amendments to the Hospital and Cbarilablo Aid Board Act and the Harbour Board Act, as proposed by the Jlorowhenua Council some time ago. The. Hawke's Bay Council, however,, decided to take no action. Mr. C. B. Lindsay wrote asking for weeds to be cleared in Man'akatt township and the erection of a horse-holder.—To be attended to. The offer of Mr. D. Judd to sell land to the council for road purpofes was held over till next meeting. Tho council agreed that the dog tax for the incoming yoar be fixed at 10s. for house and sporting dogs, and 2s. Gd. for sheep and cattle dogs.
