VALUABLE SHIPMENT FOR NFW ZEALAND. • According to London advices one of tho best lots •of Clydesdales which lias ever loft Great Britain for New Zealand was shipped from Scotland towards tho end of October to the order of Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., of Dimedin. Report has it that in Dunnro Thomas the New Zealand firm took away about the biggest two-year-old which tho Old Country could produce. His sire is .Montrose Prince (IISSi), and" he is out of a rf«m by the renowned Hiawatha • .(10067), which on four different occasions carried off . the bluo ribbon of the Clydesdale world—the Cawdor Cup." Dumire Thomas, it is stated, has size and substance which can be equalled by very few Shires, and his quality of bone, movement, and stylo are said 'to leave nothing to be desired. He is stated to be. just the sort of horse which will be a credit to tho breed at the outset of the Now Zealand Clydesdale Horse Society of New Zealand. Half a dozen of marcs' and fillies are included in the shipment. One of them is the seven-year-old.Etta, the dam of Royal Marcel-| lns, which made the record price for his age in New Zealand. A second marc is a. daughter of the great breeding horse Baron }litcholl (1068S), and going lack on the female side to the great Morryton Prince of Wales (G7.1). Then comes Peerless, a -three-year-old daughter. of.. MrJames Kilpatiick's Craigio Hairs prize- . winning horse Perfect -Motion '-(13123). This mare has 'been most successful in gaining distinction' in several' important shows in Scotland. There is a two-year-old filly'by Brfron'.s Pride (9122),' Bosie of Bombie. 'A. yearling filly is by. Baron's Pride, and another by Dmvure James (13-152). Both'are reported to be of superb finality, and up to big sizes for their age. All theso animals are intended for the stud of Mr. Mackenzie., "Mr. J. W. Blair gets a two-year-old, wliicli has been named High Mark. He is said to be a. typical specimen of the breed, with plenty of ,size and beautiful action. A great handsome'yearling' colt-is now owned .by_, MK Peter Gordon. 'He is li grandson of. tho famous breeding horso Royal Favour-! ife, (10630), the sire of not a few winners ct- tho Highland, and Agricultural Society's Show:, and out of a mare by Prince Harold (9973). 'This is a colt with' great flat bones, tho best of' broad open feet, and close true action in front and behind. It is stated. that' he gives every promise of growing iuto a .big, stylish horse of the finest' class'. To Mr. M'Lean, in the North Island, has been, shipped a.mare named Silver Princess, sired by tho Seaham Harbour one-thousand-guinea horse Silver Cup,, which was three times first f.t the shows .of the Highland and Agricultural Society and thrice at the shows of tho Royal Agricultural Society of England. Her dam is by. the well-known and popular premium horse Montrane Marquis. 'Silver princess has been twice first in her class, and stood reserve for the championship.' of the show of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, while 6he has been, most 'successful as a prizewinner at district.shows. She'is believed ib bo in foal to the well-known Cawdor Cup champion Bonnie' Buchiyvie (M 032), one of the'most famous sons of the great breeding horse Barou of Bucklyvio (112G3). Never'at any lime in tho history of the breed, it is reported, has a finer lot of animals' left Scotland for New Zealand. .'.
