MIRAMAR COUNCIL.

A meeting of tho Miramar Borough Council was held last night, tho Mayor (Mr. J. Brodie) presiding. Recently a sub-committee, appointed by the council, waited on tho Tramwav Committee of tho Wellington City Council to sco if they could como to ronio arrangement about running the city tramcars on the Miramar lines, the borough to supply its own power. Last night a letter was received from the City Council to the effect that the proposal could not bo discussing ■ the nlatter, councillors expressed the opinion that the City Council had not fully understood tho position, and it was decided that a letter bo drafted explaining what the borough was really asking. It was decided to call for applications for the position of mechanical engineer as recommended by Mr. Jlestaycr. Two short lengths of fencing are to bo erected at Worser Bay to deflect the Band drift from the road to the beach,
