LITHGOW IRONWORKS.

FURNACES TO BE CLOSED. By TelcEranh—Press Association—Oopyrisht Sydney, December 5. Messrs. Hoskins have discharged 70 men engaged on extension works and in other branches of the Lithgow ironworks. It is rumoured that the blast furnaces will shortly bo closed. It is expected that tho firm will proceed against the Government for cancellation of contracts following tho recent report of tho Royal Commissioner.
