BROOKES AND HEATH HERE.. Messrs. X. E. Brookes and R. W.'Heath, of tho Australasian Davis Cup team, arrived in Wellington yesterday' afternoon by tho Main Trunk express. They proceeded to tho Thorndou courts, where they engaged in practice with Messrs. Fisher and Peocock. 'i'lio main features of their play were tho remarkable returns, quickness and precision in both driving suit] volleying which inspired confidence in them as defenders of the cup. It is their intention fo again visit the courts for practice this morning, and they will leave for Christchurch to-night.
