THE BOYCOTT.

ANOTHER PAPER'S COMPLAINT. The Masterton "Age" lias the following:— "The Pahiatua 'Herald' alleges that the boycott lias been applied to it in the mutter of Government advertisements. The. correspondence, which is published in the 'Herald' from tho gentleman who controls the Advertising Department or the Government leaves room for a suspicion that all is not serene. At the same iime, the 'Herald' has the satisfaction— if such it can be termed—of knowing that it is not singular in the. matter. The 'Wairarnpa Age' . . . has to play second fnldlo in Hie way of Government advertisements to manv newspapers, published in sniail.T townships. Hut wo do not complain. W'e are not going to sacrifice our independence for the silte of tho dollars. There is, however, a big principle at stake, and the taxpayers have a right to ikviiaud that the boycott shall cease."
