STOCK LOSSES •IN AUSTRALIA.. Stockowners have another evil to contend with at present in tho shape of what is^known ns wild lucerne (says the "i'nstoralists' Keview"). Where other fodder has- dried oif this remains green, and both cattle and. sheep rush it for feed. Heavy losses have occurred among travelling 'atosfc,. one mob. of, sheep losing 400 head. This wild lucerne is very prolific this the growth being very thick. between- i'owlerls Gap and Cockburn on the South Aiistriilian border. The Stock liranc.il of the-Department ol' Agriculture; is sending a veterinary officer■:to. Broken' Hill and district "to" investigate the vari.ous matters deaths of stock; especially tho action, of. wild lucerne antl other poison -.plants.....
