MILK-BUTTER CONTEST.

THE JEUSEYS ON TOP. Tho champion milk and butter competition at tuo Stratford Show, bare details of which wero published on Thursday, aroused a considerable amount of interest in Taranafci dairying, circles. Tha competition, which was open to all cows, drew ISS entries, tho prizes being-.— First, J5lO 10s. and .Messrs. C. and E. Jackson's silver cup, tho latter to be won outright twico in succession; second prize, Mr. J. M'Cluggage's special ot' M 55.; third, Mr. F. K. Russell's special of ,£2 25.; and fourth, Messrs. Kempthorno, Pressor and Co.'s special of J2l Is. Points wero computed as under:—One-tenth point for every pound of milk in four days, and 25 points for every pound of butter-fat produced.
