THE INQUEST. MOIR COMMITTED FOR TRIAL, D j TelerraDh—Press Assoclation-OopxrteM (Rec. December 1, 6.10 p.m.) Sydney, December 1. At the inquest respecting the murder of Trevascus, Constablo Ramsay in his evidenco stated that while Moir was detained at the Melbourno lock-tip , lia (Constablo Ramsay) usked him how ho got into this trouble. Ho replied: "I will tell you in confidence." Ho -went on to state that on the Saturday before tho murder ho met a man named Cordricn, and when Trovascus's back was vascus, On tho morning of tho murder ho visited Trevascus and introduced Cordrien, and when Travascus's back was turned Cordrien hit him on the head with an iron bar, and he fell to tho floor. Moir then went downstairs and borrowed the paper from tho girl, and did this as a blind. He then left the building, and watched till Cordrien came out and gave him (Moir) twenty-five of tho £50 he got from Trevascus. He supposed Cordrien cut Trevascus's throat. He did not sco him before. On separating, it was agreed if either was caught tho other I was not to squeak.
The polico evidence was to the effect that all offorts to trace Moir's alleged accomplice have been fruitless. Moir was committed for trial.
