ORATORIO AND CATCALLS.
There ia no sympathy between "NoI/iconse" meetings and oratorio. This was certainly tho opinion of the vast audieiKo which filled the bis Town Hall last evening, when "Tho Messiah" was sung, for the solemn progress of tho work was interlarded with bursts of cheering, hoot in;;, and unchecked laughter from the small hall, .where pandemonium reigned. it was somewhat disconcertiiicr to hear in tho middlo of tho solo, "He Shall Feed His Flock,' conglomerate cheers and hoots, and after "ill We T.iJto Sheep have gone Astray' to catch tho words, ''Wowser, Wowser," hurled at someone nt tho "NoLiccnsomeeting Wheu tho big Town Hall is let for such an important lriuaical event as an oratorio, tho City Council authorities might mo that it is not disturbed bv such pi'o.ss rowdyism took tuaco u "«t r noses of tho in tho Concert Chamber last evening.
