Referring, to. abortion, in dairv cows, Mr. C. J.. Keakes, Chief Veterinarian, remarks in-his annual report that it is a-matter for extreme.''satisfaction that t.io work .done during the past few years in. cotnoa.ting this disease has given "such goo/1 results. It. is-still necessary, however, for iarmors to exercise vigilance and care in preventing tho possible reintroduclion of contagious abortion into their herds, and to continue the exercise ot preventive measures generally It must be remembered, says Mr. Rcakes, that- it is, a common experience witli ■this disease -for." it to apparently disappear spontaneously for a time" and then recur.
