Invercargill November 29. A statement has gamed currency to the effect that Mr. Joseph Hatch has "lost the ease of the Macquario Islands, and that •Dr. Aiaweon has obtained a lease for two years. Mr. Hatch state that this is in. correct; what tho Tnemanian Government did require was an undertaking thnt nothing would be done to interfere with vt r ' £ law s<"iß scientific research.
