FIERCE FOREST FIRES.
IN CALIFORNIA, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright New York, November 27. At Santa Monica, California, a ranchcr and his wife and four children arc believed to havo perished in tho forest fires. In Topago Canyon ono hundred persons escaped the flames by taking almost impassable trails. Wild animals havo been driven to the seashore by tho fierceness of tho fires.
