The Terminus Hotel at Otira, owned and occupied by James O'Mnllcy, wns burned to the ground on Sunday morning early. The fire started in a lavatory and ran up a staircase, cutting oft' the retreat of the boarders on the nppe,' floor, who had to escapo through the windows to tho verandah. One man was badly hurt in getting out, and was removed to the hospital. The boarders lost practically everything, tho losers including the stationmastor and postmaster (both relieving otlicers), and Dr. Cairns and family. . The building and furniture were valued at JCSOOO. It is understood they were insured in tho State office for a thousand pounds.
