SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB, The Suburbs Hide Club continued their shooting on Saturday at MirniDar over range-, 300, fiOO, and 700 yards, seven shotq at each range. Thirty-six members competed. The wind was veiy gusty, varying from right to lelc, and ploying havoc with the bullets before they could reach .their de.stinatioai. The club decided to [give tile Mirajnar range a fortnight's recess, and visit Treutham for long-rancu shooting, in the hopes of getting bctler weather. Saturday's results:— A Cla.s. V.. Tho "Daily Jlail" 50-guinea uhallenga cup, recently won by the Suburbs Kills Club will bo known in future n.s tho "Daily Jlail" Challenge Cup, to be Ored for annually. .New Zealand conditions for this year:—To bo fired for at Trentham on a day set apart, where all «o tivo financial members may participate in the matches. Ranges to bo 300, 500. 600, 800. 900, and 1000 yards, seven shots at each range, two sightcrs allowed.
MORRIS TUBE "SMOKER." On Friday evening tho C. a.wl A. Odlin Morris Tube Club held (heir annual smoke concert and presentation of prizes . at Scott's, Manners Street. Mr. C. C. Odliu occupied tho chair. Musical items were given by .Messrs. K. A. Horron, A. 'Williams, J. Allen, and others. Mr. Odlin, in presenting Iho prizes, ■ referred to-the good work done by Ihe cinb in promoting sociability among the employees of tho firm. The ctpUiin of the club thanked tho firm for (he support given to tho club by allowing it use- of the range, which was second to none in Wellington.- A very enjoyable evening was spent by all present' The prize-winners wero as follow:— Club championship: .T.
