The monthly meeting of the Board ofi Governors of tho Wellington Collc-go and' Girls' High School ,was bold yesterday, thorn being present:—Tho chairman (Mr. A. <le 13. Brandon), and Messrs. W. l\ Ward, Hobert Lee, and A. Warburton. According io the monthly statementof finances, the credit balance on , paper, after providing for prospective paymenbv, amounted to .S3GI7 lls. oil. A letter from the. Inspector-General oC Schools conveyed tho intimation that i. special grant of J3123, over and above tho crant provided for by regulation, had been approved by tho Minister for Education for furniture and fittings for tho Girls' High School. Tho chairman 111nounccd that tenders would now. bo called Cor tho furniture and fittings, and Ihat a special meeting of . (he , board would be convened in ;i fortnight's time (o deal with llioso. The tender of Messrs. Mnir and Eosn, «it ,£ll2, was accepted for tho outbuildings at tho Girls' High School, subject to tho contract being signed in accord*anco with tho conditions.
