SPRING FKUITS AND VEGETABLES.

Inquiries made at tho Allen and Blair Street markets show that the fruit which came to hand by this week's Sydney steamer was only about half as much as arrived last week, and the consignments consisted mostly of oranges. These met with a fair demand, selling.at 7s. to 11s. fid. per case. A few mandarins arrived, choice sorts bringing up. to 12s. Gtl. and other kinds 7s. to Bs. Pineapples from the Islands via Aucklaud were sold at Cs. per case. Sydney cherries commanded 9s. per quarter case. The Melbourne steamer also landed cherries, some of which arrived in bad order and sold at from 6s. to 10s. per crate: medium sorts made 11s. to 145., and choice 255. to 265. Mildura oranges arrived in bad order, and | wero quitted at ss. t:> 6s. per case. Tasmanian Stunner apples brought 10s. to 11s. per case; grapes, 2s. per lb.; strawberries, 9d. to Is. 3d. per box; gooseberries, 2-Jd. to 3d. per lb. and ss. per halfcase; rhubarb, "s.. to 4s. per do.ten bundles; asparagus, 4!tl. to Gd. a bundle; cucumbers, choice, 6d., 7d.; others, 3d. to old. There, was a good supply of vegetables generally. A considerable quantity oi freen peas arrived from Nelson during he week, and averaged ss. to Gs. per cental. Otp.ki green peas brought 6s. to 125., according to the size of the sack. New potatoes were in heavy supply at 7s. Gd. to '9s. per cwt., and old potatoes sold at -is. to 4s. 6d. per cwt. Cabbages, choice, 4s. to ss. sack, other kinds 2s. Gd. to 3s. Cd.; cauliflowers, choice, Gs. fid. to 7s. Gd., other kinds 45., 55.; carrots, ss. Gd. to Gs. 6d.; whit« turnips, Is. to 25.; parsnips, ss. to Gs.; beet, Is. Gd. to ss. Gd.; Melbourne onions, £8 to £S 10s. per ton; spring onions, 6d. a dozen bundle; radish, Gd. a dozen; eggs in plentiful supply at lOd. dozen.
