THE ASHFOKD SHOW BALE. The following particulars of the sale of Roinney Marsh rams at the Ashford show aro given in "The Field":—"Though disappointing on.the whole, the auction was so for satisfactory in that the proportion taken by tho export buyers was nbont tho snmo as in 1910, ninety-six out of 353 sold being, purchased to go abroad to Now Zealand, Australia, Falkland Islands, Chili, and Patagonia. Last year's average, .£l3 Is. 10d. for 390, was the best on record for theso sales, and the best price then was 170 guineas. This year's champion ram made top price, 80 guineas, jlr. C. File heads tho list with tho handsome average of <ElB I9s. 3d. for twentytliree. Tiio champion ram, as was tlic case last year, goes to New Zealand, Jir. Lee (letting him at SO guineas. The next one went to tho same country, Jlr. J. E. Mackenzie, tho judge, taking him at 51 guinea.;; Jlr. J. Kgerton Quested s largo lot made the good average of .£l2 Gs. 2d. for sixty. The hrst-prize old ram and Tcserve champion mm goes to Sir E. Dorin" at 30 guineas, and tho two-shear, second at tho Boyal, to Jlr. H. Kigden at "0 fruineas. The iirst of the yearlings went to Jlr. Lee for New Zealand at GO guineas. Mr. F. Neame gave 35 guineas, Jlr. 1. I'inn 30 guineas, and Mr. Jl. Cazalet 31 guineas. Of Jlr. J.'B. Palmer's consignment the top price was. given for Chili by Messrs. Hobbs, the fourth prize in tho wool'class, 21 guineas, and the average was Ml 3s. Id. for seventeen. The average for 3,"i3 sold was £1 35., a reduction of nearly £1 from 1910."
