Tho English cricketers liavo arrived and were welcomed by tho Lord Mayor at tho Town Hall. Tho manager, in reply, said that nover was such care taken in selecting a team, which was particularly well balanced; if it played more slowly than pleased the people, ho hoped they would bear with them, knowing the tremendous responsibility they had of supporting tho honour of Old England. Mr. Warner (captain), who had been indisposed since tho Adelaide match, will not play to-morrow. THE CAPTAIN'S ILLNESS. (Roc. November 24, 0.30 a.m.) Sydney, November 23. Mr. P; F. Warner, tho captain of the English team, is suffering from slight gastritis.
