OTAKI.

Mr. W. H. Field addressed the electors at Mannkau on Monday evening, when there was a large attendance. Tho speaker received a fair hearing, and at the conclusion a vote of thanks and confidence in the Government was moved and declared carried. Mr. Byron Brown addressed tho largest political meeting yet held in Levin, the attendance eclipsing that at tho meeting held by Mr. Jfassey or Sir .T. Carroll. Mr. Brown was very cordially received, and with the exception of a few remarks from opponents, had a splendjii and enthusiastic hearing. At tho conclusion ho was congratulated by many admirers, and assured of hearty support. Thveo hearty cheers terminated the meeting.
