WELLINGTON SUBURBS.
MR, MOORE AT JUDGEFORD. Mr. F. T. Moore, Labour candidate (or the Suburbs seat, addressed the electors of .Judgeiord .last night. Councillor. Galloway occupied the chair. The candidate said that the Opposition were making the freehold question their dominant, note. This was nu 'absolutely false issue to raise in this country. The land policy wAnted in New Zealand was continuity of tenure, with ' periodical revaluation in the case of Ciown lends, and llio men most to be admired were those'who held on to their holdings and were determined to hand them down to their children fer all time in the highest state of cultivation and productivity. Ho named a number of the local settlers who were model farmers on these lines. Tie said that land was too valuable and important to b? made the plaything cf speculators and it was tho speculator who clamoured for Free-trade in Crown lends. The only man who should be allowed possession of land was the bona-fide user who occupied it for the purpose of production and not for speculation. The policy of Labour in regard to land was absolutely. just and eniitable. With continuity of tenure assured, (he holder of Crown land could make improvements to increase his vields and Labour would help him to (jet the highest possible returns for his products. To say in tho face of this that Labour cand'dates wero no use to the man on land was a very stranw untruth. A vote of thanks and confldcnco was carried unanimously.
